Talks planned as club chiefs want £8million in-form Celtic player

Celtic have recently been praised for their recruitment strategy, having brought the likes of Arne Engels and Luke McCowan to the club this season.

In addition, the Parkhead club have also let players who are not in Brendan Rodgers’ plans leave the club to get first team football.

Alexander Bernabei is one of those players like The Argentinian struggled to establish himself at Celtic Park after his big 2022 move from Lanus.

Now on loan from Brazilian side Internacional, the Bernabeu is tearing up trees and moves are reportedly being made to make the temporary move permanent in December.

Internacional to fly to Europe and talk to Celtic about Alexandro Bernabei

A report in The Scottish sun says International bosses are flying to Europe to attend “more recruitment meetings”.

One of those meetings is believed to involve a trip to Celtic Park, where the Brazilian club are looking to seal a deal to make Bernabéu’s loan permanent.

Celtic are said to want around £8million for the Bernabeu but that price may be too high for the fifth-placed Brazilian Serie A side.

But when you look at the form of goals from the Bernabéu is right now Celtic are right to try to recover the £3.75m fee they paid for the Argentine and more.

What has been said about Alexandro Bernabei since leaving Celtic on loan

Internacional are keen to keep Bernabei. That’s clear. Their The club chairman waxed lyrical about the Celtic defender earlier this season saying “discussions have already started with the player’s agent” before speaking to Celtic.

Internacional fans love Bernabe right now as he praises the Celtic defender for his form this season, while The Brazilian media are in awe of the Hoops loanee calling it “electric”.

Whatever happens with the 24-year-old now, it’s clear that Internacional want Bernabei badly and if Celtic can pull off the right deal, Rodgers should let him go.
