BJP MLA Munirathna accused in intimidation and atrocity cases

Bengaluru: Sleuths of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Saturday filed a chargesheet in the Special Court exclusively to deal with criminal cases against Bengaluru MLAs/MLAs against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused Munirathna in intimidation and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act Cases. Currently, Munirathna who represents the Rajarajeshwari Nagar Assembly seat in Bengaluru is on bail.

BJP MLA is accused of intimidation of an entrepreneur Velu Nayakar. Munirathna is also reserved under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The contractor registered a complaint against the MLA on September 13 this year at Vyalikaval police station in Bengaluru city.

Apart from being booked in SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities), the BJP MLA is also booked under 153, 153 A, 504 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code. The SIT is also investigating rape charges against Munirathna.

According to a press release of the Bengaluru CID office, the charge sheet against Munirathna contains 53 witnesses and as many as 157 documentary evidences during its investigation. The SIT chargesheet is 590 pages long and includes 3 who are eyewitnesses in the case. The eyewitnesses gave their statements before the Judge.

The release said that an audio clip of the BJP MLA’s alleged caste abuse against the Contractor was submitted for testing by the Forensic Science Laboratory and FSL tests confirmed that the audio clip conversation matched the audio sample of the audio conversation with the his voice. the accused person.
