Mumbai: Police have arrested the 32-year-old businessman who crashed his luxury car into barricades and rammed other vehicles to evade control while allegedly drink-driving in the western suburbs, a an official said on Saturday.

He said police personnel at the spot, two-wheeler riders and passers-by gave chase, forced the accused to stop his car and broke the window when he refused to open the car door.

A mob gathered on the spot and beat him. The accused was taken to a hospital and later to a police station, the official said, adding that he was remanded for four days.
